Jesus Christ, the perfect Love.

We do remember the story of the Samaritan woman with Jesus at the well. A lot had been going wrong with her relationships. She went to man after man and even lost count of how many men she had or even, who was hers. When she met with Jesus, she knew she had finally got a perfect match, one that she was looking for in a man.

She was willing to give up on all the other relationships to pursue the newly found man. The love that Jesus showed her through what He told her, moved her, and caused her to desire to forsake all the other things, relationships, and everything else, so that she concentrates on loving Him alone. The excitement she got which moved her to go back to the city and tell all the rest about the man she met at the well, she could not hold it back until the whole city got to know about it.

The Love of God does not serve to punish us for what we have done. Jesus suffered it all at the cross. He bore our sins that we might be free from the bondage of sin.
Psalms 103: “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. 11) For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12) As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13) As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him. 14) For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. 15) As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16) For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more. 17) But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, 18) to such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. 19) The LORD has established His throne in heaven and His kingdom rules over all. 20) Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.”

The life we have in Christ Jesus is eternal; God looks at us through the spirit not the flesh. He will not punish you for what you have done, that is the love God has towards His children. Love covers a multitude of things, and it is for this reason that God will not speak a curse or death upon your life because He himself is life. We also have the same kind of life. We have power under our tongue, the power of life and death to speak life or death upon everything that belong to us from family, carrier, children, friends, our nation, and the entire world.

Is guilt and shame keeping you from experiencing the full measure of God’s Love? Is there anything you are holding back from God because you are worried He will stop loving you? Jesus took our punishment we deserved. As a result, we can confess our sins without fear, knowing God will greet us with mercy, grace, and Love above all.

Hold onto your confession.

Many a times, I have heard people speaking positive, trying all means to stay positive regardless of what surrounds them, and I noticed it is very easy to keep a positive confession when all things seem to be favourable.

The same people will change their confession in times of crisis. When they are hard pressed left, right, and center. They lose their confession and fall back to their old nature.

In such times, your faith is being tested, have you been well grounded in the Lord? Does your faith waver when you see the storms in life? Do you still hold onto your confession? Testations will come to every believer. The Bible says, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried” (Daniel 12:10). “The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but Jehovah tries the hearts” (Proverbs 17:3). How have you guarded your heart in such times that you never saw coming?

An example of one who has had a headache for over 5 days, but everyday, they confess victory over the headache on day one, day two, day three, and if it persists, such a one will lose their patience, and before you know it, their confession will have changed why? Because they feel they have believed enough but dont see results. It is not quantified in the bible that after believing for this long, you are free to change confession and do otherwise. The bible says, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Mathew 24:13.

Our only answer is found in seeking God who is the author of all seasons. He knows what tomorrow brings, and since we are one with God, we also know what He knows. He reveals all to those who wait on Him.

Hallelujah!

Sermon on Faith in God in Hard Times

God’s Love that never runs out on you.

If you are a parent, am sure you have had several experiences with your children. Parenthood is a great experience in a woman’s life. You have seen how many promises you make to your children and some are fulfilled immediately and some take a little bit longer, but none the less, it is your obligation to fulfill them.

Children love receiving from their parents, once a child is promised something, they will surely wait for it to come to pass as they remind you of that promise to them. . I see this with my own children, once a promise is made, they will patiently wait to see it come to pass, with a lot of reminding you about it. They will not give up until they see that gift you promised them.

As a parent, you make it a point to fulfill that which you promised in due time.
We as children of the highest God, have the same expectations, to receive from God according to His promises. Our trust and love in God keeps us hoping, that one day these promises will come to pass because we know He who promised shall bring it to pass. It is that life of Christ we have in us that causes us not to quit on waiting upon God’s promises.

All His promises are yes and Amen to them that believe on Him regardless of what we have done or not done. Nothing can change the promises we have in God for us. His heart is for you and not against you.
You may ask yourself, Can God give up on me? The answer is a NO. Some of the reasons God can’t give up on you are;

God is merciful; many a times when we feel we have strayed from His way, we hear certain voices telling us how undeserving we are, how unfaithful we are. But amidst all these voices, God will still extend the richest and greatest form of mercy we could ever experience and does not call us to earn it. He calls us to simply receive it. Ephesians 2:4-5 “But because of his great love for us, God , who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-It is by grace you have been saved.”

God is Grace; God’s mercy upholds us from experiencing eternal separation from God, and His grace gives us many blessings of hope, peace that passes all understanding, and love. God can never give up on us because of His grace; If He freely gives us this gift of Grace, then why reject it? Ephesians 2:8-9
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
If God freely gave us His grace, we should not be afraid to approach His throne of grace at any time. Grace is available for all of us by faith through Christ Jesus.

God is compassionate; He extends forgiveness towards us and desires us to receive by faith in Christ. God receives serial killers and thieves with the same amount of compassion, which is beyond comprehension. This is about leaning on God’s understanding not ours. God is moved with compassion to cause healing, to save lives from the world of darkness so that they don’t perish.

God is Love; we are engulfed in His love, and we see this through His word to us. He came and lived amongst us so that we might know Him. God looks at us through the eyes of Love. 1 John 4:9 “This is how God showed his love among us: he sent His one and only son into the world that we might live through Him”. Because God cannot quit on us, we also carry the same grace not to quit on love, who is God.

God is relational; during the times of Moses in Exodus 20: 18-21, the Israelites begged Moses to talk to God on their behalf, because they didn’t fully relate with God; they always waited for Moses to give them an answer from God on their behalf. When Christ came, the veil was tone apart that we do not need a mediator to talk to God on our behalf. We have full access to the throne of God. Our God desires that we have a personal relationship with Him, and in this way, we are consumed by His love, and the more we walk with Him, the more we want Him.

Build up yourself in your most holy faith

In this christian walk, we ought to learn to build ourselves up in our most holy faith in Christ Jesus. This will help us withstand what the Lord Jesus has warned us about in Matthew 24:4-13:

“Jesus said, ‘Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

As christians, we need to understand that because Jesus said these will come, they will come indeed. Jude gives us an important encouragement and reminder – that we should build ourselves in our most holy faith in order to face these things well.

Some of the ways to build yourself in the most holy faith is by;

Praying in the Spirit;

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit…” (Jude 20)

When we pray in the Spirit, we are building ourselves up in our faith. When we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit will help us pray. He prays in an unknown language, praying for our needs when we don’t even know them yet (see Romans 8:26-27).

Dig deeper into Christ’s heart;

And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire…” (Jude 22-23)

Our Lord Jesus Christ rescued us by coming into the world with all its filth and unholiness. As christians, we ought to have this kind of love for God and the people God loves. We need to love God above all eĺse, and in doing so, we also grow in love for our fellow believers who doubt and those who don’t know God yet ( Matthew 22:37-40).

May the Lord our God carry us to that place of knowing Him above all else and to Love Him more than ever before.

Hallelujah!

As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you.

In the beginning, the earth was formless and void. As unimaginable as this may sound, it is the truth. Yet today we see a world full of beauty unexplainable. The trees, the lakes, the blowing wind, the sunset, they all speak of the existence of a not only powerful God but even more, a God of Love.

I searched and searched to find answers

Growing up, I had many questions in me that I always yarned to find answers to them. I always wondered if God made the earth and Heaven, then who exactly created God Himself. I wondered where I could find God and ask Him my questions so as to satisfy my hungry soul. I didn’t quite understand how to seek and find a God who was said to be unseen. I didn’t know who to run to, to ask the questions, and the more I grew up the more I hungered to find these answers. I always thought to myself, if by chance one day I bump into this God and we have a lengthy talk, then that would settle my heart.

My soul longed to find someone who would help me fill that void on the inside of me, this went on and on until one day, when I felt someone lead me to a powerful worship session that was going on in a certain church. When I entered, I felt a rest in my soul that I had never experienced in my life before.

I felt I had reached a place that I had always longed to find, my soul was watered and fed. From that time, I started growing in love with this place and the more I went there, the more they spoke of a God I couldn’t see with my eyes but rather felt with my heart, I wanted to stay there forever. I decided to start reading the bible from Genesis to revelation, and the more I read it, the more I found answers to the questions, I would hear someone in my heart guiding me to read on and on, I would hear someone directing me through my reading. The more I read the word, the more I hungered for it, I felt I had entered a certain friendship with someone I never knew and I was ready to seek Him more and find out more about Him.

An excerpt of a book “Engulfed in Love” Martha Namusoke

Your ministry is not limited to the pulpit.

True ministry is not limited to the pulpit. That is why we see those that are not called in the fivefold ministry calling themselves pastors, when they are meant to be somewhere else as engineers. Some call themselves prophets, when in actual sense, they are suposed to be somewhere else as CEOs.

Pulpit ministries are meant to help people discover and be effective in their own spheres of influence. The vast majority of people are meant to serve outside the pulpit and the fivefold ministries. Nurses, politicians, teachers, managers, and technicians. These are called to serve God in those lines. This doesnt mean, because they dont step on the pulpit, then they are not serving, and are not fufilling their call upon their life.

It is the reason we see that ‘leaders’ fight each other, why? Because they are probably out of their course, that they need to re-allign themselves to the true calling and purpose of God upon their life. Once that is achieved, you will find satisfaction in what you do and will not find it in yout heart of hearts to fight other leaders, and those in the fivefold ministries.

It takes a certain discipline for a Christian to wait on God in order to discover their true purpose in life. God alone points you to your purpose. This again takes submission to allow God to prepare you for what He has called you to do in life.

May God direct our paths, and may we open our hearts to know the purpose, and callings upon our lives. And that our lives will be useful to others.

Silence amidst Noises

Many a times we find it hard to keep quiet about our testations, pains, sufferings. It is said a problem shared is a problem half solved, that is the wisdom of the world and not from our heavenly Father.

Take a look at Job and what he suffered, Job 3:25-26 (Amp). “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, and that of which I am afraid befalls me. I was not or am not at ease, nor had I or have I rest, nor was I or am I quiet, yet trouble came and still comes [upon me].

Silent confidence

Job never kept quiet about his troubles, he never had rest too, he was not at ease, he always talked about what befell him and the more he talked about them, the more they magnified. That shouldn’t be the life of a believer.

When you have confidence in the Lord, regardless of the many testations that come your way, you will have that inner strength to hold on, you will have the grace to be silent about them, the more you talk about your troubles, the more they look big before you, and the more pain.

It is good to have someone you confide in but it is a terrible thing to confide in everyone you think cares to listen to you regardless of what you say. It takes maturity for a christian to understand the power that is in ‘Silence‘. It means your confidence is only found in God and not outside that.

Jesus suffered alot of pain during His time on earth, He was tortured, spat on, abused, ridiculed, but in all this He never said a word. Isaiah 53:7 “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Jesus should be our living example. Let’s master the art of Silence. Jesus did it, He lives in us, the same Spirit that works in Him also works in us. Our true confidence is found in God and not outside God.

Hallelujah!

God delights in you.

Psalms 37:23
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

For it is a good thing to delight in the Lord. In every step of the way, God directs or orders your steps. What a beautiful truth this!

Meaning before you even take a step forward, the Lord must direct it, this takes a certain submission under the grace of God to allow you to follow after Him always.

Delighting in the Lord should be our lifestyle regardless of what the world says or looks like, this should settle in our hearts that once God directs your steps, be sure not to stumble even in the dark.

The Lord is your light, and salvation, this truth causes a christian to walk with confidence knowing that even darkness can not comprehend the light that shines in us. Understanding this truth brings liberty in our spirit.

Glory to God!

Depending on Him alone.

As a christian, depending on God is our lifestyle. In whatever you do, think, in all your pursuits, remember, God takes the wheel.

Just as a baby has full assurance and confidence that my mother can not throw me down when they lift me up or carry be in their hands, the same faith that works in children should be the or more faith that works in us, through us, and for us.

Mark 10:13-16 ESV

“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.”

We have been given all blessings in the heavenly places. Amongst the blessings we have is one that comes with trusting in God alone, that is a blessing.

We may think that blessings are the cars we have, the money we posses, the children we have, and that is true, another blessing revealed to us by God is a blessing of trusting in God at all times and in all things.

Blessed be the name of our God forever.

The power of preparation.

1 Timothy 4:15(KJV); Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

The doors of the Spirit are waiting for the most prepared. This is not about physical preparation because the infallible truth is that you can never prepare enough for spiritual opportunities.

It is the Spirit of God who prepares us. He knows these doors, when they must open and how they must open. He is intimately acquainted with the timing of opportunity. He will position you in the right place at the right time. He will bring whoever you need, when you need them.

That is why we must learn to relate and commune with the Holy Spirit. To give Him first priority in our lives and to maximise our time in His presence. Our theme scripture urges us to give ourselves wholly to the things of God.

Where are you going? What do you want in God? Your preparation shows!

We must be diligent, sold out and zealous toward God. We must be mighty in scripture and fervent in spirit.

When you say you are going to believe God, do so like your life depends on it. When you say you are going to pray, pray! When you say you are going to fast, fast.

PRAYER:

Father, I thank you for this truth. You are my helper and my ever present help in times of need. I have great respect and honour for your Spirit because I know He is ever ready to reveal, to teach and to instruct. I am diligent and walk this life with zeal because every moment is a preparation for greater things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
