Delays as seen in the eyes of God.

1 Peter 5:10(AMP); And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

There is an ungodly delay and there is a godly delay.

When delay is ungodly, often times, it births frustration, which frustration leads to human effort to provide an answer, which human effort leads to rebellion.

When delay is godly, one is kept by God even in that delay.

Contrast these two examples: At the great age of ninety, Sarah had no child, her womb had never been opened. It was out of frustration with this state of affairs that she asked her husband to lie with her maid Hagar (Genesis 16:1-2). This was human effort seeking an answer. Hagar gave birth to Ishmael (Genesis 16:16). Years later, after Isaac was born to Sarah, we see mockery from Ishmael on the day Isaac is weaned (Genesis 21:9).

The second story is of Hannah. The Bible says that her womb was shut by God (1 Samuel 1:5). This was godly delay and Hannah carried the testimony of one preserved by God. Her value was never diminished in the eyes of her husband. The Bible says he loved and favoured her (1 Samuel 1:5). This itself was a testament of God’s mind and heart toward her. Hannah, did not compromise. She could have asked that her maid bear her a child, like Sarah did with Hagar or like Racheal, Jacob’s wife did with Bilhah but she did not.

As a child of God, you must have the wisdom to discern godly delay and ungodly delay. If delay is godly, understand that the Lord makes things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Learn to rest in Him.

Ungodly delay stirs restlessness in the spirit because the spirit of a man is irritated by a sense of stagnation and is hungry for progress and elevation. Never ignore these convictions and urging in your heart because they are a communication from God that a delay is ungodly. Seek revelation for quickening and for your answer.

PRAYER:

Loving Father, I thank You for this Word. Thank You for the wisdom to discern what You are up to in my life. I reject the testimony of ungodly delay because it is not my portion. I am conscious of the convictions of the Spirit that point me to Your timing and I respond as one who is learned in how You work and function. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Freedom- A safe place.

“A safe place is a place where the fear of misused freedom doesn’t get to rise up and intimidate us out of risking trust and love in our relationships with one another.” Quoted from Culture of Honour by Danny Silk

We are deprived of our freedom when the people around us, our very own flaws, the environment we live in, does not allow us to freely express ourselves, hence fear and anxiety taking over. We can not walk in love minus that true freedom in us. We can’t stay in that safe place when there is no freedom expressed through love. We live in that perpetual bondage where we cant freely express that love because we don’t seem to find that place within us to connect with others.

2Corinthians 3:17,
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, then freedom is guaranteed. I want you to stop for a moment and think about the many times that you felt you didnt have that freedom to express yourself, where you felt you didnt have that liberty to do what you thought was right to be done! Or should we say we missed the point where the Holy Spirit was leading us to that place of safety where there is freedom?

In christ we have that freedom that can not be received from anyone you can name. A connection to the Father allows us to access freedom where there is no fear, doubt, anxiety, and hopelessness.

God wants us to have that blessed assurance in Him that the only freedom that we need is from Him alone. This expectation and security allows us to be free everywhere we are.

Christ is our safe place!

Christ is our freedom!

Hallelujah!

He knows what you need

Mathew 6:8 “… for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

I love it when I go before God, and the reason why am before Him is to thank Him for what He already did for me. In such a situation, I usually wait on God with my heart yielded to hear His beautiful, soothing, peaceful voice telling me “It is well my daughter” what a beautiful feeling. This is life its self!

Everytime we go before God in prayer, we need to carry this same mind that He already knows what we need. In the presence of God we can practice waiting on Him, waiting to hear His voice on a certain matter or issue that is bothering us.

Sometimes you will feel a flooding of the peace of God in your spirit, sometimes you will hear that sweet soft voice speaking to you, in whichever way the Lord chooses to speak to you. It’s a wonderful feeling for a child of God to experience in their walk with God.

Practice to hear Him speak to you even amidst the many confusing voices. He says My sheep know my voice.

God be praised!

The Power of hope

Romans 8:24-25(KJV) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

As read in our scripture reference, It is Hope that saves us. Imagine when the world around you is speaking failure, speaking financial failure, and indeed you are convinced that surely, you have reached the end of the road because you don’t seem to see any light ahead of you. The language you hear is discouraging, and all situations look hopeless.

At this point, that is when you see some commiting suicide, why? Because they thought that they have reached the end of the road, the only option is to also end their life! So sad indeed!

If you use your eyes to see the end of the road, it’s an indicator that you have no hope. Scripture says, “but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not..”

Many times we exalt the situations around us and make them look bigger than our God. Everytime you find yourself in such a state, look within you and hope again. We have the living hope in us, that is the life of Christ in us. He is our living hope.

Rest in the Lord, Let your eyes see Christ as the end of the road, once you practice that, you will be cultivating that deep seated hope. That hope keeps you alive, renews your strength, that hope causes you to see beyond your pain, beyond your suffering, beyond your insufficiency.

Embrace hope always and you will see the light.

Hallelujah!

God’s peace-weary heart

In a time like this, when the world is quiet, less involvement in the things of this world. That inner voice becomes clearer. A time to search out the heart of God concerning your life, church, family, nation, and the entire world.

A season where many are held in panic, great fear gripping their souls, anxiety, fear for the unknown. Amidst all that the Lord is saying something, He is not quiet, we have just not yielded to Him to hear what He has to say.

God’s peace and love above all will override all uncertainties. Hebrew 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

May the God of peace govern our hearts, May He guide us in all things. Comfort the heavy hearted and strengthen the feeble, that He may work in us what is pleasing to Him. Amen.

Drawing from within.

Everyday is an exciting experience for me. My heart is always looking forward to a day, an hour, a minute when i glance at His beauty, His wondrous works not only towards me but even the entire world. Pondering on how sufficient God is to me. The depth of His unending wisdom overwhelms me.

I treasure times when am alone, I turn to my inner self and begin to draw the truth that is deep seated on the inside of me, the more I desire to draw it out, the more I want to draw deeper.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Our scripture indicates that the world has been set in our heart, what a truth!! Imagine running left, right, and center searching to find an answer to your life’s questions. All the answers you need are hidden in the depth that is found on the inside of you.

Meditating on God draws His depth to you, hence revelation of the person of Christ is cast upon your spirit. In worship, in prayer, in His word, we are drawing from the deepest waters.

The Holy Spirit abides with you, who has all the answers. When you set your heart to find that particular answer, you will surely find it, draw it from the world within. It’s the most beautiful thing. Hallelujah!

The Seen and unseen things.

I have heard many people seeking the Lord for very many reasons. For example, Financial matters, healing in their bodies, and many more reasons. Indeed the bible says in Jeremiah 29:13 “ And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Its good to see that God provides all your needs according to His riches in glory because they belong to us.When you set your heart to seek the Lord, present yourself before Him with a pure heart not a double mind. Here is a scenario, when you are set to pray, your heart is speaking a different language of the worries, fears, financial issues you are facing, and then the mouth is also speaking a different language of praises to God, Exalting God, worshipping Him. A person like that may take long to receive from the Lord because He/she is not in unison with the meditations of the heart and the words of his/her mouth.Mathew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.Seeking God with all your heart is to connect your heart, and the words of your mouth to speak the same language. David wrote in psalms and said let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable before you. Meaning both the words spoken and the heart must be in agreement in order to find Him.Many atimes a troubled heart can never seek God and find Him. God is a God of peace. Find peace within and then His heart Shall be found when sought. Focus your eyes on Him and despise all the worries, fears, troubles of this world, then set your heart to seek Him.On the other hand, God wants us to seek Him and get to Know His heart towards us, His thoughts He has towards us. You can seek Him simply to know Him and the power of His resurrection. Seek to know Him for who He is. Seek to Know His ways and walk in them. Seek to know the depth of His love towards His people, in this way God will open those rivers of living water from within to flow through you, and you become a blessing to those around you and the entire world. The more you seek Him for who He is and not the material things He can give you, the more He transforms you into what He wants you to be.Oh! I need more of you Lord. Praise the Lord!

Not the I but the You in me…

Searching, looking everywhere, consulting wherever you can, read books, name it, the answer will still be found in you. The world has answers to different questions in life, but the search never ends.

when I was growing up, I used to ask myself many questions about God, Who is He?, Who created Him? Where did He come from? and many more questions. I never got a concrete answer to my quest. Until one day when I had an encounter with the Lord, a great fire started burning in me, a thirst for God was increased, a certain hunger for Him increased, I couldn’t find rest in me until I discovered that whatever I was looking for, whatever I always yearned to know about God was actually found in me.

Eccl 3:11, He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

God lives in us so is eternity. The depth of His knowledge is unsearchable. Even when I rise above my flesh to another world, I surely can’t die empty because in me is the unsearchable depth that I have and everytime I seek Him deeper, I tap from those deep waters.

It is our mandate as believers to find those treasures hidden in earthen vessels. This will set you apart from the rest because you have seen God in a different way.

Faith is not postponed

Matthew 9:20-22

The woman with an Issue of blood: It started with the woman believing, having that faith, that if she touched the hem of the Lord’s garment, she would be made whole, that manner of faith that she exhibited touched the heart of Christ and immediately she received her healing.

As I usually say; Faith is now and not postponed. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. She had the assurance in her that today I must be made whole and a conviction that she was healed already.

2peter 1-3

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share in His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. This woman knew her inheritance in Christ because in 2peter 1-3, the word says, we have been given everything in life.Faith stirred up moves mountains, and faith is now, I have the power to decree a thing and it happens now, that is the life we have in Christ.

The woman knew just a thought and word spoken in faith would cause a change, Jesus was quickly moved because of her faith. Amongest the things that move the heart of God is our faith in Him, No wonder he says in Matthew 17:20 “If you have faith as a grain of a mustard seed”.

You get into the habit of practicing it continuously, I can not forget when my daughter came back from school and her body was covered with chickenpox, She called me and showed me how her body was in pain, the maid confirmed it’s chickenpox, her cousin too confirmed, my daughter went ahead and told me how her teacher told her to be taken to hospital for treatment, I looked at her and told her, that is not chickenpox, that is not your portion in Christ, and you dont have it, you only have good health and not chickenpox, she chose to believe her mom.In the morning, when she woke up, she didn’t have anything on her body, it was all gone, she didn’t complain about it again, as they were seeing chickenpox, I saw good health because it’s what she has in Christ Jesus..

Glory to God!

How do I know the Will of God?

Hebrews 13:20-21 KJV

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect, in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Our theme scripture reveals that “Making you perfect in every good work to do his will”

Many want to know the will of God in their life, but it’s the word of God written about you: that is the will of God for you. Psalms 138:2 Says God has exalted His word above His name.

God works in you that which is pleasing in His sight. God’s will is His word, He works in your life to perfect you according to His word.

So when a person is seen working against the word of God, it is evident that this person is still a work in progress, he/she has not known God a certain way. God’s good work is not yet perfected in them.

It’s evidently seen in how many interpret the scriptures, following what their itching ears want to hear and end up twisting the scriptures, and it’s the same reason the bible tells us to test the spirits, who knows some maybe under the influence of certain spirits that can’t stand the truth that is in the word of God and hence preach the word of God diverting others.

It’s expedient that a christian gets to know what the bible says about their life in order not to be deceived by any doctrine that may arise from those that seek to satisfy the desires of their flesh.

Even the body/ Flesh is an enemy of the word of God, it will send you to do something out of your way, and give justifying reasons for it, but at the end of it all, the word of God will still remain true. Rom 3:4

May we embrace the word of God in its entirety in Jesus’ name.

Amen!
