Freedom- A safe place.

“A safe place is a place where the fear of misused freedom doesn’t get to rise up and intimidate us out of risking trust and love in our relationships with one another.” Quoted from Culture of Honour by Danny Silk

We are deprived of our freedom when the people around us, our very own flaws, the environment we live in, does not allow us to freely express ourselves, hence fear and anxiety taking over. We can not walk in love minus that true freedom in us. We can’t stay in that safe place when there is no freedom expressed through love. We live in that perpetual bondage where we cant freely express that love because we don’t seem to find that place within us to connect with others.

2Corinthians 3:17,
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, then freedom is guaranteed. I want you to stop for a moment and think about the many times that you felt you didnt have that freedom to express yourself, where you felt you didnt have that liberty to do what you thought was right to be done! Or should we say we missed the point where the Holy Spirit was leading us to that place of safety where there is freedom?

In christ we have that freedom that can not be received from anyone you can name. A connection to the Father allows us to access freedom where there is no fear, doubt, anxiety, and hopelessness.

God wants us to have that blessed assurance in Him that the only freedom that we need is from Him alone. This expectation and security allows us to be free everywhere we are.

Christ is our safe place!

Christ is our freedom!

Hallelujah!

  1. Thanks Martha for this wonderful teaching. Our God has given us the freedom to speak to him anywhere any time. Indeed our Lord has invited us to express our selves in
    Isaiah 1:18.
